No Ticky, No Washy!

Money makes the world go round I believe is the expression.
But what makes the money go round that seems to be the biggest question
confronting us today.

As good citizens in a ‘free market economy’ we place the burden of
directing our resources in the hands of our leaders. Unfortunately, that
means politicians. Money in the hands of politicians is a dangerous
commodity, mostly because as human beings, each politician has their own
agenda, which may or may not be in the public interest.

That is why it is incumbent upon every good citizen to make their voice
heard, not just at the ballot box, but in the halls and seats of government at
every level. By being heard, we are not talking about a self-aggrandizing
shouting match between diametrically opposed individuals. What we are
talking about is a ration discourse of fair-minded human beings addressing
their interests for the common good.

Tonight in Monroe, NY, 5pm in the Senior Center, once again the Town
Board will convene to hear public commentary on the proposed use of
the Monroe Cinemas. It is our deepest desire to serve the community in
whichever capacity we can to insure that this facility is used to its greatest
purpose for the community at large. Entertainment, leisure activity,
education, public exhibition of subject of interest to all, i.e. history, art,
architecture, commerce, etc.

There is space enough in these facilities to accommodate many interests and
purposes. We request that the community come together to present their
thoughts with civility, kindness and love, not just of self, but for all.
